Radiology

Finally!  We replaced our old xray machine and upgraded to a newer, more compact model to decrease exposure and increase efficiency.

This is our darkroom (with the lights on) where we develop all of our radiograph films.  We have a newer model processor for now, but we hope to go digital in the future.

This is what we call a "whole cat" radiograph.  Most cats fit on our large xray plate so we can capture an abdomen (sotmach and intestinal tract) view as well as a thorax (chest with the heart and lungs) view all in one shot.  This is especially helpful in reducing stress on the cat since cats are typically less willing to cooperate for xrays.

This film is a radiograph of the hips of a dog.  We shoot these type of xrays to screen for a condition called hip dysplasia or to screen for arthritis in our older patients.  We can also use this view to check for pelvic fractures.
